FirstRate5 is a software tool used by the majority of industry to rate the Energy Efficiency of Residential Buildings.  FirstRate5 utilises the NatHERS engine (calculations) to model the Thermal Performance of a Residential Building.

 

Thermal Performance Assessors must accurately input data into the system relating to the Building being assessed as well as surrounding properties, structures and trees.

 

The software provides the Thermal Performance Assessor with the ability to tweak insulation levels, glazing types and many other elements to achieve compliance with the minimum Star Energy Rating or beyond.

 

The Star Energy Rating is a result of how energy efficient the building is to Heat and Cool to a comfortable level as set by NatHERS.
